"Live Quietly" Block Print Reproduction
"Live Quietly" Block Print Reproduction
"Live Quietly" is a vertical block print reproduction printed on a deckled edge cream paper (250gsm). The print is unframed and signed by Patsy on the front right hand corner.
I originally created this block print by carving out the image by hand. I rolled a velvet black ink on its surface and pressed the cotton paper against the block to imprint the image (using the back of a wooden spoon!).I titled this print, "Live Quietly" after 1 Thessalonians 4:11 where it says, “…aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands…”
Reflections on Living Quietly
We are called to aspire to live quietly for the glory of God
To lean towards unity instead of quarreling
Toward intentional order instead of chaotic disorder
Toward careful wisdom instead of childish impulse
“And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)
