DAY 56: TITUS
“For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation for all people, training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, waiting for our blessed hope, the appearing of the glory of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ” (Titus 2:11-13)
Dear Christian,
By grace we are saved and are made new.
I think of the words in 2 Corinthians 5:17 where it says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” We don’t become Christians by mustering up all our good works or deeds and shoving it to God the Father.
Being a Christian is a miracle in and of itself. And it is only made possible by God.
This truth changed me and is still redeeming and transforming people all over the globe today. In Christ, we have freedom. In Christ, we have joy. In Christ, we have newness of life.
We renounce ungodliness and pursue self-controlled, upright, and godly lives because for freedom Christ has set us free. We are no longer slaves to sin. Instead of returning to our jail cells, let us walk in freedom and walk in the light.
Love,
Patsy
