"My Redeemer Lives" Job Lettering Fine Art Print
“For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another. My heart faints within me!” (Job 19:25-27)
Dear Christian,
Sometimes we’re tempted to believe that when you become a Christian, everything will go well with you.
The story of Job shows us that this isn’t the case. God allowed for Job to experience physical pain, loss, grief, and isolation. But what’s worth pointing out here is Job’s response in the midst of his suffering. He cries out, “For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth.” In spite of his suffering and confusion, Job expresses his faith in a living Redeemer.
Our current circumstances do not define our ultimate realities. We live in a broken world, but we are promised a day when, “He [God] will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)
How can we know this to be true? How can we trust in this incredible promise?
Friend, the plan of God is already unfolding. Don’t you see it? We see it on the cross and we also see it in us. Jesus has secured for us an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading.
So as we wait for the promises to be fulfilled, let’s fix our eyes on our Redeemer and pray that our future realities would invade the present. May God’s kingdom come.
Love,
Patsy
